Why I Keep Buying Goodr Running Sunglasses

I’m actually on my second pair of Goodr running sunglasses now.

My first pair lasted me years… including two marathons. To be honest, the only reason I replaced them was because the lenses eventually became so scratched that I could barely see out of them anymore. Which, considering how much I wore them, probably says more about me than the sunglasses.

So I finally bit the bullet and bought another pair.

I remember being a bit sceptical when I first bought them because I’d never really run in sunglasses before. I assumed they’d bounce around, slide down my face, annoy me halfway through a run… or just end up shoved on top of my head after 10 minutes.

But honestly? These Goodr Running Sunglasses do not move at all.

I still don’t fully understand what magic is involved there, but somehow they stay put whether you’re running easy miles or melting into the pavement during a summer run.

And for around the £30 mark, I genuinely think they’re such good value.

I also think they’re one of those running things you don’t realise you need until you have them.

Now if I forget mine on a sunny run, I genuinely notice the difference straight away. Especially during summer runs where you spend half the time squinting into the distance questioning your life choices.

One of the things I love most about Goodr is that they don’t take themselves too seriously. There are loads of different colour combinations depending on what you like, from bright pink frames with blue lenses to more neutral styles if you don’t want to look like you’ve accidentally joined an 80s fitness video.

But it’s the names that always get me.

My first pair were called: “Whiskey Shots With Satan”

And my current pair? “Bosley’s Basset Hound Dreams”

I mean… who comes up with these?

What I also like is that they don’t just do one generic style either. There are different frame shapes, styles for smaller or larger heads, and options for different sports too. So they feel a bit more personal rather than just “one pair fits all”.

I think that’s probably why I like these Goodr running sunglasses so much.

They don’t feel overly serious or intimidating like some sports brands can. The colours are fun, the names are ridiculous, they don’t cost a fortune and most importantly… they actually stay put when you run.

Plus they’re not just for running either. I wear mine for walks, holidays, driving and even things like Park Yoga on sunny mornings. They’ve become one of those things I automatically throw in my bag without thinking.

And yes… they stay on even during a Downward Dog, which for sunglasses is honestly quite impressive. too.

Goodr originally started because they thought running sunglasses were too expensive, too serious and honestly a bit ugly.

Which… fair enough.

Somehow they’ve managed to make practical running sunglasses feel fun, affordable and weirdly addictive to collect.

Honestly, once you start looking through all the colours and names, it’s quite hard to stop at one pair.

And now I’m already eyeing up my next pair.

Would I Buy Goodr Running Sunglasses Again?

Running can already feel uncomfortable enough without constantly adjusting sunglasses halfway through a run, and for me Goodr are one of those running products that just work.

Mine have lasted through years of training runs, races, holidays and everyday life. The first pair survived two marathons before I finally replaced them, which considering how much I wore them, is probably the best review I can give them.

I also like that they don’t take themselves too seriously as a brand.

Running can sometimes feel very serious, especially when you’re marathon training, so I quite like having sunglasses called things like “Whiskey Shots With Satan” staring back at me before a run.

Since originally writing this, Goodr have actually sent me a few more products to try, including another pair of sunglasses, socks and Body Glide. Which honestly felt pretty surreal considering I’d already been buying, wearing and talking about their sunglasses for years beforehand anyway.
